Push Rod
The Brake Charmber houses a push rod. When the brake chamber is activated by compressed air, it extends the push rod, which in turn transfers force to other components.
The push rod from the brake chamber connects to the slack adjuster. The Slack Adjuster then uses this force to rotate the camshaft, adjusting the braking force based on the wear of brake components.
Camshaft
Driven by the slack adjuster, the camshaft's rotation causes the brake shoes (in drum brakes) to expand or the caliper pistons (in disc brakes) to act. This creates friction against the Brake Drum or disc, achieving braking.
Air Supply System
The brake chamber depends on the air supply system. Compressed air from the system fills the brake chamber, initiating the braking action. Pressure regulation in the air supply system affects the force exerted by the brake chamber.
